Student’s critical thinking and editing skills will be enhanced through incorporating artistic vision of one artist into the theatrical trailer of another artist and video making techniques. They will focus on one artist within one movement and one popular movie which will develop their understanding of the artist’s expression and their own artistic voice. Upon completion of the lesson students will post their videos online for peer-to-peer critique. In this lesson students will take a theatrical trailer or scene from a popular movie and edit it as if a particular visual artist had made it. The artist may be dead or alive and from any time frame and artistic discipline. Even contemporary artists may be used for this project. The finished project must be between one to three minutes in duration. Must incorporate some of the artist’s work and have an air of the artist’s flair i.e. - attitude, style, message, etcetera. Images of artwork by chosen artist must be included in video. These may be still or moving images. Learning objectives:
Students will learn take an activity some of their peers are already doing and see the educational value along with the fun in it.
Students will have to use critical thinking skills while researching an artist and an art movement along with a popular movie that they will be able to remix.

EXAMPLE: Yves Klein's Moulin Rouge For an example I chose conceptual artist Yves Klein. Klein’s work in various mediums enabled me to not only use his vision, but his performance art and snippets of his music score. The movie trailer for Moulin Rouge (2001) was chosen for its raciness that is similar to the filmed performance of Klein and his human paintbrushes interplayed with the theatrical trailer.
